Advantages of Oral Sedation

• Easy to administer. All you have to do is swallow 1-3 tablets an hour prior to the appointment. In the meantime, you can relax in our patient lounge. You can even pick a movie of your choice for the appointment!
• Safe. Being a medication regulated by TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration), it is very unlikely to experience complications. Our experienced dentists also work routinely with these medications, so you’ll be in safe hands.
• Amnesia. Due to the strong effects of the medication, some patient have little to no memory of the procedure. This is great for patients who have a bad dental fear.
• You remain awake and responsive.

Is it suitable for me?

Many of our patients benefit from oral sedation, in particular when:

• longer appointments are required to complete extensive work/surgery
• they are very anxious/have dental phobia
• poor dental experiences in the past
• have a low pain threshold and/or bad gag reflex
